To provide shelter to everyone in Barcelona, we all need to work together. The role of government and community groups is very important, but so is citizen participation. We’re proposing some ideas so that you can help put a roof over Barcelona:

Take a photo that explains what shelter means for you, or propose a way to give shelter to everyone. If you have an account on Flickr you can put the photo there and share it with the Arrels Foundation group called “Posa sostre a Barcelona (Put a roof over Barcelona) If it’s easier, you can send your photo in an email to

Do you have a Facebook page or write a blog? You can help us to publicize our campaign by linking to your web page or sharing one of the banners that you find here. You can also become a fan of the Arrels Foundation on Facebook and meet people that are involved in social issues.
Another way to get involved is to spread the word of our campaign online. You’ll make sure that more people learn about it!
Before taking action, it’s important to understand the situation.
Become a volunteer! In Barcelona that are people that devote some of their time to accompanying homeless people and supporting the organizations that serve them. But there is still a need for more people. Get involved!
Get involved with your school! You can share a photo that shows an image that represents putting a roof over Barcelona, and share that photo with our Flickr group. We’d also like to invite you to visit us to learn more about poverty and homelessness in Barcelona.
If you don’t have a lot of time but you’d like to collaborate, you can do it affordably. One option is to become a member of organizations like Arrels; an alternative is to make a one-time donation.
