Hospitals Programme
Homeless people usually suffer from severe health problems, worsened by the poor living conditions experienced on the streets and the lack of medical attention they receive. When, for whichever reason, a homeless person known to us needs to be hospitalised, a team formed of 16 volunteers and 2 social worker organises their admission and discharge from the medical centre, visits the patient, mediates with the medical team and social workers, and contacts the person’s relatives. In 2008 this team attended to 48 people.
