Residencies Programme
When service users of Arrels become 65 years old they become eligible for access to a residence for older people, which for some is a frightening prospect.  The Residence Programme, formed by 2 social worker and 6 volunteers, looks out for them so that they do not feel alone and endeavours to sustain the links they have with Arrels. The team visits people on a regular basis and tries to meet their individual needs.

This programme is one of Arrels’ most recent initiatives. It was born in 2005 after we realized hat those of our service users who left Arrels to live in retirement homes still had needs and equired our attention.

Testimonials
“Without expecting anything in return”
Xavier Faus
Residencies Volunteer
What the volunteer does is to accompany. To be on the side, without expecting anything in return. If a good communication is established everything becomes easier, but this is not always possible. Respect for the person you are visiting is required, who as time goes by might become a friend.
