To Rest

The guide “Living on the street in Barcelona” recognizes public and private resources in the city that those living on the street can go to directly, without needing a reference from social services. 

On this page, you can find specific resources that offer places to rest during the day. To access a municipal shelter, you need a reference from social services; keep in mind, there is a waiting list.

Where to rest during the day

 

Day center Nou Barris

  • Address: c/ Marie Curie, 20
  • How to get there: Metro L4 – Llucmajor
  • Hours: Every day (Monday-Sunday), from 8:00 to 20:00. 

Day center Poble-sec

  • Address: c/ Font Honrada, 8
  • How to get there: Metro L3 Poble Sec or L1 Espanya
  • Hours: From Monday to Friday, 9:00-19:00.
  • Additional Information: You can connect to a laptop if you need to. You can also ask them to guard your documentation. 

ASSIS Reception Center

  • Address: c/ Issaac Albéniz 14-16
  • How to get there: L6 Reina Elisenda
  • Hours: From Monday to Friday, 8:00-15:00 and Saturday, 8:00-12:30.
  • Additional Information: If you are a woman, you will find separate and specialized services. Animals are allowed; if you have a muzzle for the animal, bring it with you.

Open center Heura 

  • Address: Av. República Argentina, 24
  • How to get there: Metro L3 Lesseps
  • Hours: From Monday to Friday, 16:30-19:30.
  • Additional Information: You can have snacks

Àmbit Prevenció

  • Address: c/ de Robador, 15
  • How to get there: Metro L3 Liceu
  • Hours: From Monday to Friday, 10:00-13:30 and 15:30-19:30. 
  • Additional Information: Specific space for people who live on the street and take drugs. They offer breakfast and snacks. To access the space, you will need to speak with an educator the first time you go. 

Metzineres

  • Address: c/ de la Lluna, 3
  • How to get there: Metro L2 Sant Antoni
  • Hours: Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Saturday from 14:00 to 21:00. Tuesday and Friday from 18:00 to 20:30.
  • Additional Information: Specific space for women and people who feel they are women. Access with animals allowed. There is a space with beds to rest.

Day center Meridiana

  • Address: Av. Meridiana, 197
  • How to get there: Metro L1 Navas
  • Hours: Every day, 12:00-19:00.
  • Additional Information: You can rest here but will need to speak with someone from the center before. Access with animals allowed. 

CAS- Baluard

  • Address: Av. Drassanes, 13-15
  • How to get there: Metro L3 Drassanes
  • Hours: From Monday to Friday from 7:00-21:45. Saturdays and Sundays from 8:00 to 15:00 and from 16:00 to 21:00. Public holidays from 10:00 to 19:00.
  • Additional Information: This service is directed towards people actively taking drugs. You can shower, and every day, they offer breakfast and snacks.

Obra social Santa Lluïsa de Marillac

  • Address: c/ Sant Carles, 33
  • How to get there: Metro L4 Barceloneta
  • Hours: Every day, 9:00-17:00.
